چکیده

Robert B. France & Thomas B. Horton Department of Computer Science and Engineering Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton, FL 33431-0991 In this paper we describe our experience in applying domain analysis within an company that develops personal electronic devices. We describe how we tailored the DSSA method to suit our needs and then present the process and representations that we found most useful for this situation. The conclusions and lessons learned are useful because few studies published at this time provide details about applications of domain engineering in commercial development environments.

Dynamic Harmonic Modeling and Analysis of VSC-HVDC Systems

Harmonics have become an important issue in modern power systems. The widespread penetration of non-linear loads to emerging power systems has turned power quality analysis into an important operation issue under both steady state and transient conditions. This paper employs a Dynamic Harmonic Domain (DHD) based framework for dynamic harmonic analysis of VSC-HVDC systems. These systems are wide...

A dynamic risk analysis on new product development process

Abstract In the dynamic and competitive market, managers seek to find effective strategies for new products development. Since There has not been a thorough research in this field, this study is based on a review on the risks exist in the NPD process and an analysis of risks through FMEA approach to prioritize the existent risks and a modeling behavior of the NPD process and main risks using s...

Monitoring of Social Network and Change Detection by Applying Statistical Process: ERGM

The statistical modeling of social network data needs much effort  because of the complex dependence structure of the tie variables. In order to formulate such dependences, the statistical exponential families of distributions can provide a flexible structure. In this regard, the statistical characteristics of the network is provided to be encapsulated within an Exponential Random Graph Model (...

Experiences with Model-based Product Line Engineering for Developing a Family of Integrated Control Systems: an Industrial Case Study

Integrated Control Systems (ICSs) are often large-scale and highly configurable software-intensive systems-of-systems, with software and hardware components integrated to control and monitor physical devices and processes (e.g., oil and gas production platforms). Employing Product Line Engineering (PLE) is believed to bring potential benefits with respect to reduced cost, higher productivity, h...

Reverse Engineering a Domain Ontology to Uncover Fundamental Ontological Distinctions - An Industrial Case Study in the Domain of Oil and Gas Production and Exploration

Ontologies are commonly used in computer science either as a reference model to support semantic interoperability in several scenarios, or as a computer-tractable artifact that should be efficiently represented to be processed. This duality poses a tradeoff between expressivity and computational tractability that should be taken care of in different phases of ontology engineering. In this scena...
